Dr Konstantinos Kostaras has been practicing Obstetrics & Gynecology for more than twenty years in one of the largest maternity hospitals in Europe, namely IASO Maternity Hospital (Athens, Greece).
After gaining his MD with honours (University of Bologna-Italy) and successfully completing clinical training as an Ob/Gyn (in Athens), he did further training in Benign Laparoscopy (London). He became physician in charge of the IASO IVF clinic in 1996 and has consequently developed a special interest for IVF patients throughout the years.
Dr Kostaras has also gained his PhD from medical school of Athens in 2005. He has been a registered member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) as well as of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) hence keeping his knowledge and skills up-to-date and according to the highest international standards.
In 2015 Dr Kostaras, along with several other internationally trained leaders of the field, joined their powers and efforts to realize the ambitious project of an international, state-of-the-art IVF center based in IASO hospital, in Athens.
The Institute of Life (IoLife – Iaso) was developed according to the guidance of some of Europe’s largest IVF corporations i.e. “Embryotools”. Dr Gloria Calderon as well as Dr Nuno Costa-Borges, some of the main scientific advisors of IVI clinics are visiting Athens on a regular basis in order to audit the function of the clinic as well as for quality assurance purposes.
