Dr Konstantinos Kostaras is a obstetrician-gynecologist, specialized in assisted reproduction and endoscopic surgery.
He was born in Lamia. He studied at the Medical School of the University of Bologna in Italy, where he received his degree in 1985 with a grade of 96/110. After a state examination, at the same university, he obtained the license to become a medical doctor with a degree of “excellent”.
He was first specialized in Gynecology, at Metaxa oncology hospital and then in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Elena Venizelou Hospital.
He obtained the title of obstetrics-gynecologist specialty in 1995. He was trained to deal with fertility problems and the use of ultrasound at the respective centers of “Elena Venizelou” Hospital. He also trained in cervical pathology at the distinguished “Instituto Tumori Milano” in Milan and later in endoscopic/laparoscopic surgery at the MITU & Endoscopy Center at Royal Free Hospital in London. He has been a collaborator of IASO since 1996 and a co-founder of Institute of Life-IASO, one of the most modern and technologically innovative Assisted Reproduction Centers in Europe.
He is a member of the international scientific organizations ESHRE, ASRM, European Society of Breast Cancer Society and SERGS. He participates in the regular conferences and workshops organized by the above scientific societies, as well as in international organizations on specialized reproduction issues.
In 2005 he was awarded a Doctorate degree at the University of Athens with a degree “excellent”. In 2009 he participated in robotics surgery seminars both at “Laikon” General Hospital of Athens and in Milan -within SERGS- and he received the relevant certifications.
In vitro fertilization, gynecology, endoscopic surgery as well as the pathology of pregnancy are the incidents that he usually deals with.
