Ova donation makes the dream of couples to have children possible by using their own genetic material.<\/p>\n<p>Donating and taking ova is the method that can offer them this possibility. The expectant mother receives the egg from the donor, but it is her own embryo that \u00a0grows; it &#8220;nourishes and breathes&#8221; through her. The donor&#8217;s reproductive capacity is not affected by the process of donating ova.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column][vc_column_text]According to the legal framework (Law 3305\/01\/2005) the donor must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be under 35 years of age<\/li>\n<li>have a normal medical history<\/li>\n<li>have a normal clinical examination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is also subjected to a series of examinations such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ultrasound test to exclude pathological gynecological conditions (fibroids, cysts, polyps, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Chromosomes test to exclude chromosomal abnormalities<\/li>\n<li>Cystic fibrosis test<\/li>\n<li>Hepatitis, HIV, syphilis, Rh group test<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once it is confirmed that it is suitable for a donor, the ovarian stimulation is followed as in a normal in vitro fertilization cycle to produce a satisfactory number of eggs.<\/p>\n<p>Once the ovum is taken by the donor, the recipient of the donation gives a sperm sample to the lab. Thereafter, in the laboratory, the oocytes are fertilized with the sperm of the partner or donor. The next day we know how many ova have been fertilized and, after 3-5 days, it\u2019s the right time for embryo transfer. The excess embryos are cryopreserved.
